Claire & Seth - Engagements

Last year I got to do something I rarely get to do - I got to enjoy the sites of Atlanta!  While I am there often for weddings I hardly ever get to explore.  But when I went on a trip with my girlfriends we ate at this place that I just couldn't get over and not because of the food (although it was amazing).  The whole time I was there I couldn't help but think how cool it would be for an engagement session.  So I'm so excited Claire & Seth agreed that it was the perfect area for their engagement shoot.  And as luck has it they are moving to this area very soon so I love that these pictures hold so much of their future.  Enjoy these pictures of one sweet couple that I loved photographing...

Jessi & Zach

Dachsunds & Marie Antoinette - if that's not a wedding theme worth remembering I don't know what is.  Jessi & Zach have a beautiful love for each other and their dogs.  Sadly, Maxwell wasn't able to make it to the wedding because of health problems but Daphne was the star of the show...almost anyway.  I'm pretty sure nothing could upstage Jessi and all of her beauty.  And honestly, how adorable is Zach? I'm pretty sure this wedding would have made Marie Antoinette very proud.  It was the perfect day for an outside wedding and I'm so excited to share these photos!

The Day Family

What's better then 2 bubbly, energetic boys?  3, of course!  The Day Family is getting ready to welcome another little man into the world.  And if he's anything like his big brothers, mom and dad are going to need a new pair of running shoes to keep up with all that excitement.  And I can't wait to meet him too!

Emma's Senior Photos

Meet Emma!  She's Clinton High School's Class of 2015 Salutatorian!  And she's quite the beauty too.  Her family - well they are just as adorable.  At one point Emma just looked at her mom and said, "I just love you so freaking much."  Clearly, this is a family doing something right!

The Caldwell Family

It's amazing what can change in 8 years!  8 years ago - to the day - I photographed Joe & Greer's wedding!  2 dogs and 3 kids later (yes, say that again with me now) I'm still photographing this crazy family that I just love dearly.  I love that all these kids look alike and that their parents are still smiling and that the fur babies still get to be in photos.  I think I had a smile on my face the entire time I edited these so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

The Cleland Family

How adorable is this little family?  And they are about to get cuter - adding a little man this fall!  Kirby & Daniel were married at Frost Chapel so it seemed very fitting that we photograph their growing family at the place that it all started.  These two little girls are just dolls!

The Waddell Family

Meet the precious Waddell Family!  Everett's dimples, Claire's sassy personality and the sweet love of mom and dad were all I could think about when I edited these photos.  Such a fun family!

The Clayton Family

I have officially seen the most beautiful red hair that there is to see on this earth.  Just look at these two little studs!  Couple that with some gorgeous stone and luscious greens (thank you rain) and I was in heaven for this session.  I totally planned on rainy mini sessions since that is what it called for all week.  Or I guess I should say that it called for storms.  But I'm so glad I have such loyal families who trust me and decide they want to do them anyway.  Because then, the rain stayed away JUST long enough for us to capture these moments.

More mini sessions coming soon!

The Smith Family

What happens when you find yourself on camp grounds and it is pouring down rain?  You take photos in the coolest tree house ever...of course!  Check out this little stud!  Four month old Blaine made us work for those smiles but once he let them out it was totally worth it.  I loved photographing these sweet faces.

Megan & Marcos

On Saturday, everything dripped with Tiffany blue - even the sky which had not one cloud in it.  There was a lot of sparkle, glitter, and gemstones but as Megan's maid of honor put it - Megan is the one that lights up the room.  Megan and Marcos were married at the gorgeous Chateau Elan in Braselton, GA.  Megan said this was her perfect Pinterest wedding.  I couldn't agree more!  But the sweetness of the ceremony is what will stick with me always from this day.  Such love and joy...you just can't replicate that!

Henley's Newborn Photos

Just look at that sweet face!  Henley may have taken her time making an arrival into the world (see her hospital pics below) but she was sure ready for her close up when we did her newborn photos!  I'm 100% positive that is because she has figured out in the last week or so just how loved she really is.  When I photographed Callie & Ryan's engagement & wedding photos 4 years ago I knew they were happy people who loved to laugh together.  But I've honestly never seen them happier then when they are holding Henley - and looking at each other like "we did this"!

WPJA Award Winning Photo

Thank you so much to the Wedding Photojournalist Association for recognizing another one of my photos in it's latest contest!  This photo from a magical day at Castleton Farms is one of my favorites from last year and it placed 12th in the Architecture and Settings Category.

Check out amazing photos from around the world at www.wpja.com and look thru the contest winning photos.  I'm truly honored to be a part of this!

Katie & Alex

I am pretty sure that when little girls dream about their wedding day - they dream about this one.  Katie & Alex threw the perfect downtown Knoxville wedding which included the historic Oliver hotel, Immaculate Conception Church, and The Foundry (which is just one of the coolest spaces). And did I mention we were all over downtown on a day with PERFECT weather?!?!  It was such a dream to photograph this wedding - all the fun and all the love and everything in between.  You'll be able to tell that I had a really hard time narrowing down the photos to post (aka - there are a lot of them).  Enjoy!

Meet Henley Elizabeth...

In all of my life I have never experienced anything that even comes close to the feeling of new life entering the world - especially when that baby belongs to you.  I had the complete honor of photographing Henley's birth yesterday and since I'm now best friends with this new family of 3 I can't wait to tell Henley about what superheros her mom and dad were yesterday.  Callie pushed for 3 hours (yup, that's right folks) and Ryan was beside her for the whole journey that led up to Henley finally entering the world.  I'll never get over how funny Callie was thru the entire process or the look of love the family had in their eyes as they met this sweet little girl.  Meeting the people who are going to love you the most in the world - that really is something special...

Let Me Be the Judge of That...

I'm over the moon excited to announce a new venture that I have taken on - something I have never done until 2015!  This year, I get to be a judge!  The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers has asked me to judge the next photo contest and of course I happily said yes.  Check it out...

Thanks to Laurie Wilson for snapping a quick headshot for me...in the rain...with only 1 day notice. You're the best!

Meg & Bryan

What is sweeter then getting married on Valentine's Day?  If you ask me, not much.  Meg and Bryan took advantage of an amazing deal at Castleton Farms that allowed them to get married on cupid's big day.  These two have so much personality and I just loved taking photos of them and all their happiness.  Enjoy!
