Landry & Luke

Never have I ever met a couple so completely into each other.  The second they did their first look it was like no one else existed.  And every time we went to a new spot for photos I didn't have to tell them anything to do because they just kept talking and laughing and kissing and snuggling.  Easy for me, right?!?!  People often ask me if it would be impossible for me to plan a wedding NOW since I've seen so many.  It's true, I got married before I knew how many options there were.  But if I got married today I'd probably stick pretty close to what Landry & Luke did for their ceremony - simple & gorgeous in front of two large trees.  It's possible we thought it was going to rain halfway through but instead the sun came out and made the most gorgeous light.  Landry & Luke, I hope you guys enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Elizabeth & Cliff

It's possible Elizabeth & Cliff were the sweetest couple in Knoxville this past Saturday as they said "I do" at First United Methodist Church and partied the night away at The Southern Depot.  I had no idea how beautiful First United Methodist was, with an incredible view of the city I love.  It was such a neat spot for their first look.  It's possible that it poured down rain right before and the sun came out, making it extra sticky.  But I really loved taking pictures inside the Parish House at the church.  It was dripping with amazing light and old, historic character, not to mention it was air conditioned!  But such is life in TN - most of the time you have no idea what weather you'll be getting on your wedding day.  But the day ended just perfectly for these lovebirds and I'm so excited to share some of my favorite photos from their gorgeous day...

Madeline & John Christian

As DJ Corey Ozair {Music in Motion} so eloquently said, "Who needs London, and a Castle, when we're all here in Loudon at Castleton Farms having our own Royal Wedding with Mr. & Mrs. Chandler".  It's true, there was another wedding that happened on this day but man did this one give it a run for it's money!  How gorgeous is sweet Madeline?  She stressed herself out silly, worrying about the weather, and then we had the most beautiful day imaginable.  It was a beyond perfect day.

I've done lots of weddings at Castleton Farms and the best thing about this place is that it is constantly out doing itself.  And of course so much of that is in part to event planner Darla Walker!  But Madeline's taste and vision was impeccable, right down to all the professionals she trusted to make her day the magic it was.  Amazing props to:

Taylor & John

What a wedding celebration last weekend was!  Taylor had a clear vision of what she wanted on her wedding day.  She called The Stave Room a blank canvas that she could put her vision on.  And what a gorgeous canvas it turned out to be!  So Taylor and John and so full of laughter and joy.  If Taylor said it once she said it a million times, this day was perfect and it was everything she ever dreamed it would be and and she was so ridiculously happy because at the end of it she got to be married to John and nothing else mattered.  Wow, I love them!  There was an exuberant amount of love on this day - family that is friends and friends that are family.  Every day should be this happy!

Miranda & Jason

If you've ever been around Miranda & Jason, you know they are the life of the party and a couple that just loves to laugh.  They seem to be in on a secret that only the two of them know and they just think the other one is the funniest person around.  I love the love bubble they seem to live in.  These two Tennesseans trekked it over to Charleston - the cutest little city ever - to say I do.  They kept it fun and easy with no bridal party but just a big party with the ones they love.  I so enjoyed being their with them and photographing their love!  Especially the moment Miranda realized Jason got her a Mother's Day card for their wedding day...hahahaha.

Jenna & Mark

Five and a half years ago when my twins were born I told my brother and my brother in law that one of them had to get married in the next 5-7 years so my kids could be a flower girl and ring bearer in their wedding.  Turns out, my brother in law was the one that listened!  He found love with sweet Jenna and they got married last Saturday in Costa Rica!!!  It was a dream!  Beyond a dream!  And I'm sharing these with the preface that probably half of these aren't actually my photos.  I played mom to the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer ever (of course next to Ellie and Jack too) and bridesmaid and a little bit photographer.  But the amazing ceremony shots are all Jeff Dunahoo.  If I have shot your wedding with a second photographer before, chances are he was maybe there with me.  He's the very best and did such an amazing job on so many of these photos.  But I have to share this wedding here because I love these two and I'm so excited for them to see these!

Hannah & Chris

If rain and cold can't get you down on a wedding day in April, maybe nothing will.  Hannah & Chris just found so much joy and love on a day meant for them.  No lie, it was cold - and it rained.  But if Hannah and Chris noticed they completely have me fooled.  Hannah has the cutest personality ever!  She is bubbly and happy and just makes her own sunshine.  I'd be willing to bet that a lot of that is because her new sweet husband treats her like a queen.  I'm so happy for these two precious people!  I LOVED photographing this special day.

Anna & Patrick

I'm pretty sure the only want to describe this past weekend is with one word - magical.  It should've rained all day but there was hardly a drop in site.  The first look alone will make you fall in love with this couple.  But even after they saw each other the just looked at each other all day with such a love that I can't even begin to describe.  The spring colors just danced around them and I loved finding a challenge in finding the different places I haven't photographed yet at a location I've photographed many times.  Anna & Patrick, you guys are so beautiful inside and out and I'm so excited to share these photos with you!

Abby & Benjamin

First wedding of 2018 this one and I loved starting the year off with these two!  I told Abby that I love a winter wedding but this one almost didn't feel like winter with the weather being so mild, not that I'm complaining.  I think the first thing Abby told me about Benjamin was that he was a romantic.  He certainly made her feel all the feels while she read his letter to her.  And truth be told I think he insisted on keeping those glasses on just to hide it just a little.  We got a little bit of Hamilton and a little bit of New Orleans and a whole lot of love on this day.  And just try not to smile when you see Abby smile - it's impossible.

Molly & Tony - New Year's Eve Wedding

All.The.Sparkles!  That's what I think about when I think about a New Year's Eve wedding and Molly and Tony did not disappoint!  So many times I have mentioned to friends or family that I have a wedding on New Year's Eve (third year in a row actually) and they respond with a very surprised "Really?" - but honestly, why wouldn't you get married on NYE?  Nobody makes plans but everyone wants plans and they can celebrate you while ringing in the new year.  Perfect!  I loved ringing in 2018 with this very fun couple at Summerour Studios in Atlanta, GA.

Bess & Jay

It's just days away from Christmas so I'm so excited to share with you the ultimate Christmas wedding.  When Bess told me she loved Christmas, she really wasn't kidding.  And oh, I am right there with her.  Christmas trees galore, to beautiful piano tunes, to Christmas suspenders and socks for the guys, to Santa hats and reindeer antlers at the reception - it was all so much fun to capture.  And this couple is just the sweetest you guys!  I mean, what bride brings a cookie decorating kit for her photographer's kids?!?!  That would be Bess.  I'm so honored that you guys let me capture your memories - I loved every second of it!  And by the fun every last guest had at your reception, I think everyone else did too.

Sarah Jane & David

Sarah Jane and David are the stuff that love stories are written about.  They're beautiful and romantic and loving and yet they've clearly been some hard things together too.  David's dad being diagnosed with ALS was one that stood out on this day that celebrates family.  Read David's beautiful words about this and why his dad was his only choice to be his best man here.  I've also never seen a bride tell so many people how much it meant to her that all of her guests were there with her and David - and mean it so deeply.  I felt the importance of these photos all day - that these memories with people they hold so dear will one day comfort them when they are no longer with them.  I get teary just writing these words.  Sarah Jane and David - you two are such special people and I just loved photographing you and your families.  Every tear that fell was special - the happy tears, the sad tears, and the fearful tears from the kiddos.  But every laugh and smile was just as precious too!

Kristi & Matt

All week the weather reported rain - like real rain all day!  But somehow that cleared until the couple decided to leave their reception.  It POURED then but who can complain when it held off all day?  And what a sweet day it was.  I've said it before but we seriously had THE most gorgeous fall this year and it held on until the end of November - probably just for Kristi & Matt's wedding.  Everything about this day was so beautiful - from the sweet tears rolling down Kristi's face to cozy lighting in a fully lined tent.  Enjoy!

Helen & Charlie

What do you get when you mix an interior designer with a painter?  You get a whole lot of fabulous when it's Helen & Charlie.  This gorgeous southern wedding, held at Helen's parent's mountain home, will certainly make you swoon.  The second I walked into the customized tent it took my breathe away and that was before the pralines and oyster bar showed up.  And speaking of breathtaking - just look at Helen.  It's easy to see why both her dad and Charlie couldn't hide their emotions when they saw her.  I'm so excited to share this wedding - enjoy every detail!

Maw's Cause Race - Raising Money for SIDS

There's a breathtaking beauty that happens when people suffer a terrible loss but then they turn around and say that others shouldn't have to go through this too.  Meet Brittanie & Ben.  They lost their son Mason to SIDS in May of this year at only four months old.  Their friends and family rallied around them and raise over $24,000 to donate to SIDS research with the first annual race and I was so honored to capture the day.  Watching the amazing community of Norris come together was amazing.  The entire town hugged and prayed and laughed and cried and ran.  They released butterflies in a beautiful moment of silence.

If you need a great cause to give to this holiday season, you couldn't find a better one then this.

Erin & Daniel

October 28th was an abnormally rainy, freakishly freezing day here in East TN.  But it was so beautiful at Ramble Creek Vineyards, it didn't even matter!  Erin told me early on that she wanted an outside wedding but she would only pick a venue that had a really good back up plan.  I truly believe it all ended up perfectly.  The ceremony was so sweet and cozy, complete with warm apple cider for all of the guests.  And when the rain finally broke we got to take advantage of some gorgeous fall colors before a crazy fun reception.  I loved working with Allison Gaddis of Live, Laugh, Love Weddings because she made the day run so smooth!  And look at those florals from Lisa Foster!

Alison & Josh

It finally feels like Fall today in Knoxville!  So it's the perfect day to share a Fall wedding.  Ok, maybe it still felt a little like summer when Alison & Josh got married last weekend but it was such an amazing day nonetheless.  They chose the Southern Railway Station for their wedding day which is such a timeless venue.  It's gorgeous and fun and feels like it just drips with history - so cool!  And speaking of cool, let's talk about this couple!  They seem to just love being together, tucked away in a corner just talking to themselves.  Their friends and family adore them too.  Enjoy the photos from this precious day!

Lacey & Gibbens

Every wedding is special.  They're beautiful and fun and elegant all in their own ways.  And there's always undoubtedly a lot of love.  But this one struck me as so different because these two have not only a love for each other but another little human - their 8 month old daughter.  When I went to photograph Gibbens he told us that he was missing her because he hadn't gotten to see her all day.  And one of Lacey's bridesmaids said it perfectly when she sweetly told Lacey that she knew this wasn't how she had maybe planned this day but how amazing that her daughter gets to be a part of the day.  The water works immediately began to start so Lacey told her she had to stop talking about it, haha.  But there sure is a lot of love here - and as you will quickly see, a lot of fun too.

Jennifer & David - Charleston Wedding

Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the whole world!  So I was so honored when Jennifer & David asked me to make the trek from Knoxville to Charleston for their very special wedding day.  They day started a little rainy but like most weather in Charleston, it didn't last long.  It was even a cool evening with a nice breeze!  But nothing made this day more beautiful then these two lovely people.  Jennifer's dress...oh.my.goodness!  But I could say that about everything from the flowers to the midnight blue suits.  This couple is just the sweetest and they made it so easy to capture so much beauty all in one day.

The Kincaid House - Styled Shoot

If you are planning a wedding you know that creating one design for a ceremony and reception is quite a feat in and of itself.  But how about planning 5 different designs?!?!  For that you call in the experts and in this case that expert was Allison Gaddis of Live, Laugh, Love Weddings.  She had such a vision for different areas of the gorgeous Kincaid House, proving that this venue is so versatile and can accommodate any look!  But let's be honest, she didn't do this alone.  Samuel Franklin provided the florals (and he's a genius) as well as All Occasions Party Rentals, Bradford Catered Events, Unique Settings Rentals and hair and makeup from Southern Sirens.  We had some gorgeous models too who fought thru the crazy heat to help us get some gorgeous photos.

If you don't already know this, Knoxville is the sweetest town full of amazing wedding vendors and when we come together to provide some inspiration this is what you get.  I so hope you enjoy these!
